Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

Well, I kinda lost the mojo on this one (Record Models 1/72 K7 in final form, kit REC7201) as the shape issues became more and more apparent whilst building, so it ended up going back in its box and being forgotten about for 8 years. Until today - finally finished the beast off. New water deflectors...

You just know the people responsible will be a handful of individuals, or one influencing a herd of sheep, bereft of common sense, vision, or indeed brains that are anything other than cells of mus...

Re: Nomadic, Titanic & other historic vessels

Having spent this weekend gone with survivors of the Coventry (my dad among them) at their 30th anniversary reunion it was a bit of a shock to see the underwater footage. I knew it existed, but hadn't expected the MoD to ever release any of it. Spooky to see the Sea Dart still on the launcher - as t...

Re: Nomadic, Titanic & other historic vessels

Every time I think that the custodians of our national heritage could not get any worse, something else pops up ready to raise your waste water to boiling point. SS Great Britain. Afloat on a sea of lime green jelly. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-18116830 A spokesman for the tourist a...

Re: Cutty Sark

The restored 'Cutty Sark' was unveiled by HM the Queen today at Greenwich. What a missed opportunity. Hoisting this fine ship up on beams, which run through her hull, just so access could be improved. Whoever thought that was the best solution should hang their head in shame. For £50m they could ha...
