Leo's Wiki Page

I was bored this evening and having nowt to do on a Friday night again  I decided to indulge a bit of wikipedia editing and a long time target of mine has been Villa's page since to be honest it was a bit on the poor side being only a few short sentences. I've done my best with what stuff I ha...

Re: "The Heart Of The Gnat"

Apologies for being a bit of topic as rather than being the heart of a gnat it’s more so the ar$e of a gnat. But I didn’t see much point in starting a thread for one small question and this was the nearest subject I could find after trawling through many forum pages. Someone has given me The Bluebir...

Re: Tribute Act

"Similar in format!" think thats a bit of an understatement. why dont they just admit they made what amounts to a replica?   In all fairness to be classed as a replica it needs to be 'the same as or similar'. From what I've seen they are very different vehicles, k7 bein...

Re: CN 7 Crash

Any contruction pics would be vastly apreciated :) Also does someone know what steering ratio was used in the 64/65 attempt I'm pretty certain with hindsight DMC would say it was a big mistake to change the ratio from 25:1 to 100:1 at Utah a huge differance however you look at it, sure I've read som...

Re: New Members

David was disappointed with the print reproduction on the 3d images. When viewed as the slides, with 3d glasses, they are spectacular. Some work much better tan others in the book. I guessed they must be better than the ones in the book otherwise why bother taking the pictures at all if a normal ca...

Re: New Members

That pic of K7, and quite a few others were transposed during printing, and David never got a chance to see a proof copy from the publishers before they started the print run. (He was mortified when they produced 3000 production copies with the various errors). That image was taken in 56, after the...

Re: CN 7 Crash

Thankyou very much kind sir I thought at the back of my mind it wasn't a pitot head but couldn't for the life of me think what it was other than a light and I saw no reason for one of them. :) Also thansk for pointing out the book I was unaware of it though now I've just found the thread on it so I'...

Re: New Members

Never noticed that, but you're right. Never quite worked out what was going on with the jet pipe in that photo either?! Thats what caused me to look at the pic in more detail the jet pipe I know its only one faulty picture but when the book is sold as a photo album and has very few words in it you'...

Re: CN 7 Crash

Now I’ve received my new copy of Leo’s big book of Bluebird pic’s I’m even more impressed with CN7 from an engineering point of view. Before the other day I hadn’t seen any pic’s of the vehicle in construction now I have I apreciate what a feat of enginering it all was. Not sure if info on the web i...

Re: New Members

i've read that with Leos album you get a set of 3D glasses to look at some of the pics with? Is the effect good or not I wish they'd just printed the 3d shots as 2d. It's just a gimmick and doesn't work very well, completely overwhelming the colours in the process. Woo hoo me books have come :) but...
