Re: Richie's Little Tank

And when you have watched that, maybe this (Cambrai, from the Tank Museum)

Moving tank is also a replica, built around an Excavators power-train.

Re: Pic of the Day

I should have made it clear that I had worked out about the centreline rivets. However, being a boater, certifiable genius, and annoying smart-arse, those big dark holes in the bottom of the hull struck me as sub-optimal. 'Snagging' you say? Are you sure it wasn't 'Muttering obscenities, crawling ov...

Re: Pic of the Day

<Sees what looks like remaining, unfilled, rivet holes> 'Fully riveted down'? - or were you just referring to the bit under the cockpit and the rest of the outer floor wasn't complete at that point?

Re: What have forum members been up to?

Have you ever watched Eric Dube making armour ? awesome to watch. Not yet... :) If you ever go mad and make your own armour, or weapons, watch the metallurgy, and the research. Everything is much more subtle than you think - and just when you think you have the subtlety down right, something new co...

Re: Technical Talk

Ref latest 'Pic of the Day' (wasn't sure whether to put this here or there...) I thought you were going to Heat Treat the Outer Floors to restore the metals properties. All this slapping paint on stuff seems to indicate that you have decided not to. Is this because its not needed, not needed enough ...

Re: What have forum members been up to?

Transplanting a sort of thread from 'Technical Issues'. Here is how I spend parts of my weekend. The NOVA documentary has disappeared so I don't know what exactly it covered. So here are some 'scattergun' links to some of my favourite YouTube videos and channels. First off, Ian LaSpina, 'Knight Erra...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

Small Arms are fun measurement-wise. I think the best one is the FN FAL, of which there are two groups, Metric and Imperial (of which the British Armies SLR was one). Both groups fire the same ammunition, 7.62 NATO, a modification of the .300 Savage cartridge, also known as the .308 Winchester. The ...
