Re: Planning Time before the Proving Trial?

Mid month update.

The LDNPA members on the Authority Committee will next meet in October, at which time there may be more news on the discussions on the proposed Bye Law updating for Coniston Water.

My diary says that there are 50 weeks until 'summer 2020'.

Re: Planning Time before the Proving Trial?

The NWEMail newspaper has run a recent story on Coniston Water Bye Law changes. The LDNPA are having to make changes because the RYA no longer governs powerboating and the National Water Speed Records. The Authority Members are being asked to accept and adopt 'future proofed' Bye Laws, which means t...

Re: Planning Time before the Proving Trial?

Even with those characters called "e m o j I s", that try to convey the context of comments and the emotion of a statement, what does upset me most is how the selective use of parts of comments made on forums, such as this one, are reproduced to convey 'the whole story'. Even publishing a whole sent...

Re: Planning Time before the Proving Trial?

The crew training event in 2018 took 30 weeks of detailed planning and probably 10 weeks of pre-planning and research. Say 40 weeks in total. It would seem that on other forms of social media there is discussion of the information I have given above. I understand it is being used to try to show tha...

... we're assuming it's all hands to the pumps for a Proving Trial in 2020.
Whilst I can call a good meeting I know nothing.

As a non gambler (yes, even in Vegas) I would not put any money down on the confirmation of action.

Cancelled my cottage in Bute for the summer.
You will be missed. Being summer the drive to Kingarth would have been ice free. The Isle becomes a UK summer holiday and a chance to see the sites that were missed last August and June and January.

It's to be hoped there's much frantic activity going on. Surely it must be on for 2020.
As I cannot be in Coniston at this time of year, I too must hope that the lack of any contact must mean that plans are progressing without any 'problems', in the village.

Planning Time before the Proving Trial?

Just looked back in old diaries and forward in the 2019 diary, so I am posting some information. The crew training event in 2018 took 30 weeks of detailed planning and probably 10 weeks of pre-planning and research. Say 40 weeks in total. It is some 40 weeks since Bluebird K7 was at the centre of th...

Re: SIGN THE PETITION PLEASE TO LET THE BLUEBIRD RUN

That is a point of conjecture. The boat was willed by DMC to Leo Villa in the event of his demise, so that Villa could continue DMC's work. The fact that the Campbell Family Trust gifted it to the Ruskin when it was willed to Villa, and should rightfully be owned by Leo Villa's Estate, casts quite ...

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

I hope that those who study the subject of speed history learn from this story and we will see it applied to a subject close to enthusiasts hearts. Have no fear, Malcolm. 'Diver Bill Smith' is about to return - gulp! I was able to watch a wreck diving programme (probably about 2004) on the bo...
