Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

No issues raised by our museum partner so that's good. Partners in what sense? Do they describe themselves as such? I, and the many that have now seen it, think that they simply own K7, both pre and post conservation, as per the terms of the Deed of Gift that you signed off on. If they demand its r...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Oh, and I should have added, I'm sure the folks in charge of the Ruskin will appreciate your appreciation of the Bluebird Wing. This will all sort itself out, one way or another, and sooner rather than later, hopefully. One final comment, and that's me done for the time being. Reading through all th...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Renegade Nemo/ Bill, do you have a fee contract for BBP's rebuild work? The Deed of Gift simply states that you will rebuild and return it for permanent display within the Bluebird Wing, built at a cost of £800k I understand, for that purpose. Did you ever go back and demand a fee, across the 17 yea...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Cheers, Renegadenemo. I'm not sparring, though. And I have no idea how this will ultimately play out between yourselves and the trustees.

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Unless BBP Ltd has brokered a new deal since its incorporation, K7 should, according to the Deed of Gift, go directly into the Bluebird Wing of the Ruskin Museum. Anyone, with the right attitude, can pick up the phone and find this out. BBP don't even have a contractual obligation from the owners to...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Interesting, when I clicked on the original poster of this thread. mark-f, back came the message that he 'no longer exists'. I tried to pm him, and back came the same message. I then tried the same with that excellent poster of yore, Ernie Lazenby. Same result. It's presumably pure coincidence of co...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I was watching the Sky News Loch Fad documentary again, the other day. Interesting to hear Bill Smith say that Coniston has had a decade to get ready for Bluebird K7's return. In fact it's the other way round. The Bluebird Wing of the Ruskin Museum was opened in 2008, and Coniston has been patiently...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Thought I'd quote the exact wording of the deed of gift. 'Property' the Bluebird K7 as recovered from Coniston Water in or around 2001, the associated parts of the vessel both recovered and unrecovered and all other associated items and objects so recovered and/or recovered to include, but without ...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I do not know where you get your information from Jett or who you talk to either in the family or the village. I'm an irregular visitor to the village but have spoken to the people that run the museum, when I have visite. (Apparently, everyone that that visits the museum now is asking when Bluebird...
