Re: The Vulcan XH558 & General Aviation Thread

I used to live a couple of mile from Usworth air field as it was known then and remember watching it fly in from the back garden. Point of no return when it landed as there wasn't enough room for it to ever take off again. sadly its lay dormant ever since. They used to charge 5p for people to go ins...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Thaks for the clarification Ernie. I dont suppose the silly folk on here would have made more of it if you had came out a bit sooner. Never mind its all crystal clear now. Maybe an appology for referring me to a juvenile noddy in toy town enthusiast who hasnt yet graduated from play school for askin...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I personaly think Bill is big enough to fight his own battles, with or without our support,. I was asking you to clarify your statement as it seemed to be aimed at the team. So for the brain dead non physic, toy town addicts who dont have the intilect to work it out among us,would you be able to cla...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Just a point on the corroded jet engine in the museum. If memory serves me right the museum were quoted several thousand pounds for a display case. BBP thought it was a bit steep so we made them one free of charge. I remember Bill and i being in the workshop in the early hours of the delivery day to...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Many moons ago when i was self employed i entered into a verbal agreement which was I would sort the wiring problems in a blokes corner shop and at the end of it he would give me some money. I carried out my side of the deal and invoiced the guy and awaited for him to send me a check to complete his...

Re: Bluebird Runs 2019

I knew the tram was HLF funded but not the boat. Just wonder if they had been turned down like we were if those projects would have had the balls that we had to say sod it we go alone, Both of them are now running displays. Hopefully common sense will win over and the efforts of the most determined ...

Re: Bluebird Runs 2019

I see the Windermere boat museum have no problem getting their steam boat on to the water. Looks like a nice craft from what I saw on the telly tonight.
