Re: Pic of the Day

Oops, tried to post twice and twice got an error message saying the message couldn't be posted, so I ended up repeating myself (hence this edit).

Re: Pic of the Day

I wiped the left hand flag on the first ever dive, that was about October 2000. The one you see was staged. It involved sending down about five divers to sit on the bottom and just wait for the visibility to improve. Most were there to provide lighting and one to operate the camera. We were all on ...

Re: Return to the Water

Just a rather tongue-in-cheek suggestion: If all slse fails, how about that you just book a week at Pier Cottage caravan park? After all, their website states: "To make the most of Coniston Water guests are welcome to bring canoes/boats........Boats are charged according to size; £2.50 -£5.50" Keep ...

Re: The Vulcan XH558 & General Aviation Thread

   No surprises there. I won't bore you all day with old aviator's tales but there is one more episode that deserves a mention, just to illustrate a further example of how stupid can be the implementation of rules that are supposed to keep us safe: Back in 1996, I was a Co-Pilot (alth...

Re: Pic of the Day

Wow! Looking good!

I am sure that the relevant homework has already been done regarding the pro-whatsit paint but I was slightly amused to see the following on a supplier's website:

Suitability for high speed craft:.........n/a.

Re: The Vulcan XH558 & General Aviation Thread

Apropos of nothing, I have shared this elewhere and received a very positive response, so I thought I would share it here too. This current spell of weather made me cast my mind back couple of years to when I was still flying for a living; since I retired, people often ask me: "Do you ever miss flyi...

Re: Pic of the Day

Fantastic progress, as always. A handful of questions re. the intakes: If every join and rivet needs to show, isn't it self defeating to use high build primer in that area? Wouldn't a light coat of thin grey primer be sufficient to give a uniform base colour before painting? It has been stated elsew...
