Re: Ebay film for sale

I see what you mean, you can definitely see the shape of the fin but it isn't very clear at all (hence my suspecting it was an earlier version). Thinking about it I'd also suspect that colour film wouldn't have been readily available to the public much before that era? Long before my time, and I onl...

Re: Ebay film for sale

I can't see the tail fin, so I'd say it's pre-66 (assuming Wiki is correct and that was the year of the Orpheus conversion?) My guess from looking at the Wiki page for K7 and that for Coniston Water would be late 1950s, as something about the background makes me think it's Coniston and the dates wou...

Re: Goodwin Sands Dornier 17

Pity the Daily Wail doesn't seem to be able to decide how it was driven. Early on they say propeller, then another hack clearly decided that those windmill thingies on the wings were just for decoration and that it was actually a jet (see under "Flying Pencil")... Wasn't the general consensus here t...

Re: What did you do at the weekend?

That's odd, I've had to unblock the drain pipes on a 2002 MX5 a few times and didn't need to strip anything out. Did lift part of the carpet around where the roof supports end up but only enough to feed the wire into the hole, and there was enough flex in the carpet to do that. You just get a metre ...

Re: Looking Back In Time- Archive Bluebird Photos

Kodachrome, another icon gone! Just look at how well the colours in those images have survived for the intervening years.

The last roll was processed on 30/12/2010.

Re: Shoes and Wedges

There's at least six totally different shades of blue on the boat. Which one is 'Bluebird Blue'? Ah. Another challenge! Just don't turn this into paint frothing (as found in the railway world)! I'll be interested to see the sponsons and planing surfaces taking shape, as I have very litt...

Re: New Members

Hi all

I'm Matt, and while I have no connection with K7 I admire the efforts to restore her and fully agree with ideas that historic vehicles should be in full working order rather than stuffed and mounted. I've been lurking and reading for a while but felt it might be a good idea to join.
