Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

The bit I dont get is why all the parties involved . BBP , BEWG , LDNPA ,Ruskin folks etc all not just agree to meet at a local pub put there differences (if there are any) aside and over a few pints hash things out and agree on something The Bluebird Event Working Group (BEWG) was established in 2...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I think even 2020 would be a stretch. Coniston is a village which can organise popular events such as the Country Fair and the Coniston 14 lake perimeter run and hosts many other major cold swimming and running activity during the rest of the year. (And feeds and shelters those who want to reach th...

perhaps worth wrapping this thread up ….. starting a new one titled "2019 operations"
I would support that view. However I hope someone in Coniston is planning for 2020, because that event seems to need a long lead in time.

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I still say wait and see what they say rather than speculate but it isn’t good at all as it stands. I know nothing more than anyone else. However, whilst the BBP may well 'wait and see … rather than speculate', may I suggest that the various organisations within Coniston get together and start plan...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Richie, just hit the link I posted a page back and the statement from Steve Tatlock is there in and amongst the FAQs. I do not know what 'planning' there has been behind the scenes of the BEWG as the decision was theirs to reveal.

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

During a period with little activity I took a look to see if the LDNPA were discussing the Proving Trial of Bluebird K7 (they held a meeting of the Authority last week). Nothing came to light but the following link is on their website. http://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/aboutus/media-centre/latest-news/...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

My prediction is this - we'll end up having to decide the go/no-go date ourselves and just trust to common sense that folk will believe that we gave a fair chance to those who should have had it written into their plan in the first place a very long time ago. Perhaps your prediction could be correc...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Can't comment on Mark-F except to confirm that he did request that his account be deactivated Before he left Mark-F and I exchanged messages. His main concern was the style of 'debate' that the BBP crew members use. Whilst I could not entirely agree with him, nor him with me, we parted cordially.

Re: Bute - 30 days on (and counting)

It has to be special when the film of something that took place 150 days ago is still being shown on a TV News channel.

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

In the spirit of the forthcoming New Year, anyone reading this thread before 11am on New Years eve could go to the Bluebird Coniston website and watch the countdown data-line 8-) It will be on 200 days for 24 hours. Oh, and I did check. It is 150 days since Bluebird K7 arrived on the quayside on the...
