Re: The Bluebird Project Website

That works - I'll ask Alain if he can offer it as an option on the homepage. In fact, maybe you guys are right and the animation sould be popped in the archive. Got us thinking again over here... Another argument we had about binning it is that new visitors will either know they've got the right pla...

Re: The Bluebird Project Website

Hey, even our mobiles work there these days but it wasn't so easy back then. The hotel had an antiquated switchboard that charged the guests about a million quid a minute. Phones in your hotel room were still a way of making money for the hotel in those days so we had to bypass that without upsettin...

Re: The Bluebird Project Website

Change the pic weekly - then people would only come here once a week and we want them every day. As for removing the animation, we've discussed that at length but it's part of the fixtures and fittings now. It was cutting-edge back in October 2000 when we rigged up a computer to some stray phone lin...

Re: Bye Law Amendment for K7

See you on the beach we shall. That's where I fully intend to be. I've dreamt of it for years. I guess I'll be wearing a headset so I can worry and fret with the rest of the team via digital radio link but otherwise up to the ankles in water will do for me.

Re: Lew Norris' Death

Ken and Lew were two of the most unassuming blokes I've ever met. I can't begin to claim I knew either of them beyond the few hours we spent on the phone and the occasional lunch but - and I may have this completely wrong - I can imagine them being mortified at the thought of being hauled up to the ...

Re: Lew Norris' Death

We asked the Hapless Lottery Failure to fast-track our application in 2002 specifically because both Ken and Lew were mentally and physically able to be involved in the rebuild process and wanted to be a part of it. We had everything in place to make the application there and then but the lottery-fl...

Re: A Picture paints a thousand words....

DSCF1526.JPG You mean these bloody things? And this is only half of them. There were two groups of them placed either side of the F-2 bulkhead amidships. F-1 is the transom so these were about 14 inches forward of the back of the boat. There's simply no way these could have been fitted without a fa...

Re: K7's Wheeled Cradle

I think we'll need something a little more involved than a straight copy of the original cradle if we're to be able to move the boat around safely. We'll be able to reproduce many of its features so things look as they should but we're currently investigating rubber, caterpillar tracks and hydraulic...

Re: Out of this World.......

We played the tape in the workshop tonight, a first-generation copy of the reel-to-reel recording made by Corp. Evans on the morning of Jan 4th 67. Most of it is clear enough to be beyond question. Eight of us listened to the final few seconds and only one thought Donald said 'gone' to the open and ...

Re: Bye Law Amendment for K7

We were a little slow getting onto this because our chief moderator was moving house at the time but it's my understanding that the post has now been removed. Thanks for being so honest and up front everyone and let's face it, we don't want to cheat. We either achieve our goal fair and square or acc...
