Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

...anyway, as Bill says, the silence from Coniston continues. We know fine well that they monitor this forum, so how about someone from over there picks up a phone today, eh?

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Just to say I do get a little frustrated that K7 and DC seem to be the only focus of what we achieved in the UK in the field of record breaking. Sir M, Henry Seagrave, John Cobb and others all deserve to be spoken of and remembered in the same way as we do DC and K7. To be fair Bill has been keen i...

Re: Blue Bird K3 Henley on Thames

Would be better if K3 had the proper engine in it...I bet we could get one of those 'R' things going again!

You'd never actually run both together of course, so the best you'd have would be the two taking turns at the same venue.

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

And, for the avoidance of doubt, we have been attempting to get that exact process moving for some considerable time without result. Indeed. This is from 2010- Without going too far into the politics, the BBP will be retaining a stake in the boat for that very reason. Her systems will require perio...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

For goodness sake Mike, I have sympathy for all those who have worked hard for years and are now probably upset/concerned about what is going to happen next. Why take exception to that? No, what you actually said was- the good guys and girls who have given much time and effort to the restoration, p...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Only one project leader, no co leader, or deputy leader.... Absolutely- and I take great exception to that baseless 'sympathy' comment of Ernie's. To be clear, I absolutely think the boat should go in the museum- as long as we can periodically get her out again and keep her alive. It's the apparent...
