Re: Pic of the Day

Even after removing probably 80 percent of the original rivets, i lost count after 2,000. I however was never ceased to be amazed at the amount of rivets used even to hold the smallest parts of the boat together. The formers for the engine and tail cover all have little feet riveted in, and the smal...

Re: Pic of the Day

Interesting Domonic mentions the toilet door in that workshop, one of the other things i was on about is our workshop door, and i am sure someone else on the project has mentioned this while working alone in there but cant remember who. Re: Nomadic, Titanic & other historic vessels

Have heard this a few times now, the theory is that if Titanic headed straight on into the iceberg it would have caused less damage and might have saved her, another mistake made was to give full rudder then banging her into reverse canceling out the effect of the rudder, I am no expert but would li...

One of my favourite sayings is that only fools and children mock an unfinished job. But even work in progres on this is amazing. I know we touched on works of art before, but whoever ends up with this piece will truly have a work of art to be proud of.

Re: Pic of the Day

I remember the old engine coming out as if were yesterday. We had attached the lifting gear after much discussion as to what or what might not be. We all waited with baited breath as the strain was took on the chains. Then a sound of music rang around the workshop. No it wasnt the engine lifting, it...
