thanks Keith , Bill - As much as i thought i knew the story of Bluebird and Donald Campbell, then another primary story emerges. Its more of an Enigma as time goes by.

Fascinating stories - thanks for sharing..... i'm sure it will spark some good debate.

I never thought of the record attempt or the lead up to it, in terms such as those mentioned above. It seems the odds were well & truly stacked up against Donald and the team - yet they were so close to achieving it all. If gravity had prevailed for another 2 seconds on Coniston in January 1967...

Todays Photo

hi What a wonderful insight we received today, into the entire Bluebird Legend. The photo of Donalds St.Christopher medal and his inscribed lighter was something of a real special treat to see ! I never knew these items were ever recovered, let alone see a photo of them. the photo is spectactular.....

Its a realy pity that the powers that be, consider using Lottery funding for Ballet schools instead of what really matters.

But then again Bankers are allowed to bring the country to a state of emergency then insist they be allowed to keep their three quarters of a million pension....... :evil:
