Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Richie in a Chess opening called the Ruy lopez there's a variation called 'Noahs ark trap'. Offers something tempting for the opponent to pounce upon only to loose quickly. I use it to good advantage in chess and elsewhere.

Interesting game ch...

We are being had here and Ernie, bless, is the puppet who's strings are being pulled from afar. its akin to chumming. Wrong Richie. Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Ernie, ...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I visited his workshop to measure and photo the wreck having been given permission by Miss Campbell. I visited on 2 more occasions prior to 2007 but not since. For what difference it makes, you here last here in 2009. As for the rest of it, the phrase 'put up or shut up' comes to mind. You are a ve...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Bill said Ernie reckon's he's a grumpy old sod - and I say that respectfully as Ernie and me have known one another a long time - one of the good guys who was keeping the whole Campbell, British WWSR thing of interest while us youngsters were cutting out teeth and for that we should be thankful. I h...

Re: K4 Bluebird

Richie. K4 started life with Sir Malcolm Campbell. A very successful boat in its original form. Sir M tried using it with a jet engine fitted, 'the slipper' but that was a failure. I have original photographs of the slipper trying to run at Coniston. After Sir M died Donald had it converted back to ...

Don't be silly, thats getting personal. Its for nothing of the kind. Mike mentioned Bill asking about doing K6 I am asking about K4. I am hoping Steve H will comment, if anyone thinks it could be done it will be him.
