Re: Pic of the Day

I reckon that todays POTD with the young lad on really shows the Project in it's true light. Nobody can deny the commitment and dedication the team show to the rebuild, but they are all "of a certain age" and not as young as him. Lads like James are the future and a rebuilt boat will be pa...

Re: Opinion Poll- Rebuild or Conserve?

My vote goes for rebuild.
Bluebird is a unique craft and we are rebuilding the original, not a copy. If we can use any recovered part, then that's where it belongs.

Re: Bluebird Project You Tube Channel

Well, Michael. That last video has to be one of your best yet. Not the usual YouTube picture quality either!!! Prodigious, man. 2 questions though. 1. How you gonna start the Orph if Bill isn't around with his big crank handle? I don't think the Red Arrow Gnats were started that way. 2. Are ...

Re: 1966/67 Boatshed

Apparently he was in 1957. Still, most people seem to get smaller as the years go by, I'm sure I was over 6 feet tall when I was a lad!! Quote: "Thirty-six years old, five feet, nine inches tall, and weighing around 170 pounds, Don Campbell is dead serious when it comes to anything concerning B...

Re: 1966/67 Boatshed

Well done to the better guessers  (I suppose it helps to have a picture with Donald and the boatshed together). Anyway, using that 'photo, my updated BBC B computer and Donald's known height (5 feet 9 inches tall) as a datum, measuring from the bottom of the rail to the top of the shed works o...

Re: 1966/67 Boatshed

Here's one for you tech heads to sink your teeth into- given that there is no end of photographic reference, and that K7's dimensions are known, does anyone want to have a crack at working out the footprint dimensions of the boatshed at Pier Cottage in 66/67? I reckon it was probably smaller than y...

Re: Off Topic- Boys Toys

Lethal to drive too. With all the weight in the back and a very short wheelbase it's like propelling a hammer at high speed with the handle leading. Give it half a chance and it'll go the other way! I know exactly what you mean. I once owned a racing Rubic's cube. Twin cam bearings and multi colour...

Re: Pic of the Day

All those hours spent finding the rivet holes and I missed the big event!! :( :(
Seem to remember though, you once said we would all have a pint when that bl***dy floor panel went in for good. I'm up for that! :P

Re: Pic of the Day

Hats off to the Team that got the Vulcan back in the air, but It's our turn next guys!!! The Vulcan was a truly magnificent sight yesterday, some people in the crowd were actually crying as the beast roared overhead. Goodness only knows how big the crowd was (massive) and most of them seeemed to be ...
