Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

Its been said on a number occasions that many models of K7 are not accurate but does that really matter. 5 yards or so away from the edge of the water who is know what's right or wrong. Rivet counters like me, and yes I did count the number of bolts on the wreck of K7 and sourced scale sized bolts f...

K4 Bluebird

Here's a question- would it be possible to build a full size working K4 Bluebird and has anyone an idea of the costs involved today. Personally I prefer K4 to K7 and said so at a meeting of the speed record club when I gave a talk. I was asked the question.

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Joerg. You don't know me. I appeared on a UK national TV programme talking about corruption in the Police service(as it happens I was subsequently proven to be correct). Caused me a lot of problems doing that but I believed it right to do so. I believe in supporting/saying what's right and yes that ...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Bill I don't think it will serve your purpose or anyone else's to get into a legal argument on here however look at what is considered normal practice to help resolution; In simple terms; One party wants property, any type of property, they consider they hold legal title to back; that person/organis...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Mike. In my experience a prolonged period of silence is usually indicative of a need not to prejudice possible impending or intended action. Good practice. This matter is now way beyond picking up a phone, the only way forward will now be by formal written communication. I may be wrong, time will te...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

“Property” the Bluebird K7 as recovered from Coniston Water in or around 2001, the associated parts of the vessel both recovered and unrecovered and all other associated items and objects so recovered and/or unrecovered to include, but without limitation clothing and overalls of Donald Campbell (dec...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Joerg. I am not the enemy!!! and please read carefully what I wrote above. I am someone who spent all his life believing in doing what's right. My signature on some forums used to be 'To live a life of lies and deceit is not to live a life at all' I stopped using it because it upset too many people ...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Malcolm, I have to say I find it interesting that the LDNP authority wont allow periodic runs of K7 given the amount of 'noise' and possible pollution arising out of the yearly 'Coniston speed week'. That does not make any sense to me, seems like a contradiction. If K7 could be displayed/run during ...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

A reality check; For over 35 years I have given talks to various groups about Campbell, Seagrave, Cobb, Sayers and others. Regarding Campbell, out of interest I always ask the audience what significance Dumbelyung and lake Mead have, blank expressions. Mention Coniston and there was a reaction. Anor...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I forgot to say; if it was intended to allow K7 to be taken out of the museum from time to time to service her and kept in top condition I would be fully supportive and seems a very sensible thing to do. (why every year though?) I could not support what has been openly spoken about on this forum and...
