Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back

A couple of points having taken the time for another look at the Facebollocking synopsis. One is that what's new and interesting is that the same spoonful of bitter souls have nothing new and interesting to report whereas BBP constantly seeks to evolve and take things forward. The armchair moaners r...

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back

I don't do FB, never have, so perhaps someone can report anything noteworthy. Thanks for the heads up. I received a thorough synopsis this morning, thanks to those who took the time to do that - some interesting discussion and mostly with a mostly accurate grasp of what's what and very positive too...

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back

Have a look on the Bluebird Supporters fb page under the recent Bute photo post. Some interesting comments on their from “insiders?”

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back

Something in the water, maybe.....? Preventing normal logic from working. Cutting off their noses, etc.
Can't be that - we swallowed gallons of that water...

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

Some really clear sonar shots on the old Interweb. You can see where the hull has failed and the one still attached sponson. Other shots from the same survey show the other sponson lying a short distance away. It's the same sonar we used to use to find bodies though running a much lower frequency in...

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back

Indeed. For Coniston and its people - and others around or near the lake. This is all because of a small number of individuals associated with the Ruskin Museum. Perhaps they can explain to the people of Coniston why Bluebird K7 will not go into their Bluebird Wing (built at what cost) ....? That's...

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

I was more interested in how the hull currently sits on the bed of the Loch, whilst at the same time raising a few interesting questions. The Hull is upside down in 660ft of water having fallen down a cliff and knocked off one of its sponsons on the way. The sponson is close by. The hull is intact ...

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back

Did I miss something, was there an announcement or press release etc from the bowels of the Ruskin ? No, nothing like that. What's happened is that, following an in-depth conference with our legal team last week, we now have clarity on several matters so the decision has been taken that we will res...

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back

I agree with Malcolm that Coniston is K7’s “spiritual home” and I would like to see her active on that body of water, and on display at the Ruskin too ! I never got the 'spiritual home' thing, and less so every day. Maybe I'm just not spiritual enough. But we have worked for a very long time to get...

Re: Bute / Coniston Back to Back

To me the travesty would be that the restored and operating boat is not allowed to be put under power on that lake at an appropriate time of year. Floating it at a jetty would not show the World what British engineering and BBP engineers over the past 20 years have been able to achieve. Turning on ...
