Re: Nomadic, Titanic & other historic vessels

I'd noticed this piece before coming on here today. Awfully nostalgic to view all those pix. I've great memories of seeing the QE2 being built, as I was living in Glasgow at the time. And then I saw it at very close quarters when it first left John Brown's, at the dry-dock at Greenock for fitting-ou...

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

I don't know Daniel at all, but this is desperately sad news.

Re: ATL Script

This Campbell trivia thing must be catching ...

I spotted the chap who plays Leo Villa in Across The Lake in an episode of The Avengers tonight.

Re: The Vulcan XH558 & General Aviation Thread

Standing behind a 737 as it takes off has ended unfortunately for a lady on Sint Maarten today I'm unaware of the specific circumstances on this occasion, but I have seen some very nasty injuries resulting from folks there not showing sufficient respect for the power of these planes in such close p...

Re: The Vulcan XH558 & General Aviation Thread

It was difficult enough raising that kind of money for the Vulcan, but for anything else I fear it won't happen in a month of Sundays. Sad, but that's the harsh reality of operating planes of this kind. I had a feeling when I first saw pictures of the crash that it wasn't going to be a good outcome....

I'll echo Rob's comments. An honourable effort. And a boatful of fun to boot.

Re: The Vulcan XH558 & General Aviation Thread

A local aircraft breaker bought the wreck and I remember standing in his warehouse looking at dozens of seats caked with blood. He kept them to extract a small damper from each one that cost £400. Back in 2006, I was having an in-depth medical exam courtesy of a doctor who'd been involved in examin...
