It's absolutely terrific that the Bloodhound team have reached the point of running the car. A tribute to the sheer tenacity of Richard & Co.

History's been made, and it will only get more exciting from here.

Such a shame, they seemed so close too, well apart from needing 25m to get it over the line. Sorry but cant see it happening now

25 Million? That the debts they have built up? How on earth can they need 25 million overwise. Richard Noble has been known to have failures of course as well as the Thrust projects.

Had to laugh at the selling. It costs less than finishing last in F1 or the Americas Cup. Just think of all those unfortunate folk out there not wishing to risk their 25 million quid for fear of coming last.

Bit more detail here-

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/indu ... nistration
Team insiders say the project would need around £5 million to run the car at 500-600mph under jet power on its already-prepared 18km track in South Africa, around £15m to achieve 800mph and break the existing record, and around £25m to reach its ultimate goal of lifting the record to 1000mph.
 ...as you do!
The dream scenario is that we’ll be in this state for a month or six weeks, then money will flow again and we can get back into action.
Riiiight... :?

Does anyone know how much money went into the Bloodhound SSC project so far? How much are those 25m in relation to the overall investment?

@BBP team: After your experience from restoring and operating Bluebird, what do you think how much it would cost to build a Bluebird 2.0 WWSR contender and how long would that take? I mean, just in case there a several 25m floating around, it would give inverstors an option... :D
