If all goes to plan (as these things have a habit of not doing), this weekend I should be working on a couple of tons of decades-old steel & Birmabright: Delving into areas that have lain undisturbed for 45 years, cleaning & repairing crusty components and stripping back layer upon layer of respays to reveal the original coat of blue.

Yep, it's definitely going to be a joy to get back on with restoring the Landy!

I mean, what else could I possibly have been talking about??

Well it isn't quite the weekend but last night Gina and I went to meet the Queen and quite a few members of her family plus some very serious explorer types at a bash at Buckingham Palace. Lovely people, every one of them.

Nah, only little nibbles and free fizzy wine but the decor was a big improvement...

Hope you told old Phil i was asking after him.
On a serious note though, Buck house and the Queen. Five years back we wern't given the liickings of a dog by H.L.F and many other people. Only my opinion but I think despite all of the doubters we have proved a bit of a point now.

Having no idea what's appropriate to post online all I can say is that a number of extremely famous and influential people now know what the BBP is all about.
Once caught up in the whole palace fairytale there seemed nothing at all odd about telling our dear Queen what we were up to, it wasn't 'til the next day that I started wondering how on earth that had happened...

Needless to say, my mum is immensely proud of her boy - bless her.

It sounds like one of those times when you wake the following morning and have to spend the first few minutes figuring out whether the previous day had been part of a rather surreal dream.

I actually woke up next morning thinking, ouch! my head hurts, having sunk a few bottles of an exquisite India Pale Ale I was offered by the barman at my hotel. It comes very highly recommended.

Hey - maybe the palace was only a dream after all.
