There was a copy of ATL for sale on ebay today that was supposed to have been sourced from a master film copy, by someone's uncle who worked on the film. However, the seller mentioned that it was shown on Channel 4, and when questioned today, came back with this-
'Yes its the full film, it was shown on channel 4 as a tribute to the days that shook the world, the film was put on to a VHS video format which i have converted to dvd and is a complete film outstanding performance by Anthony Hopkins, dont expect a box set with covers its purely the whole film in its entirety.
If you want to questioning dont bid

'Days that Shook The World' was of course something else entirely, and now we have mentions of VHS tapes and a continued insistence re. Channel 4...I think what we had here was someone trying to sell the usual taped-off-the-tv version, possibly obtained from the usual hooky box set that is out there! (Why else mention the other programme's title, and box sets and covers..?)
However, it's all moot as I've just received this in response to further questioning-
Thanks to your comments and the fact you have not bid or shown interest... i have distributed to many of my personal friends who found it a great tribute... you are very wrong with who showed this film as it was only in 2002 that it was shown on Channel 4.... to be honest i hate my listening being questioned by an anarak who has no intention of bidding... spoiling it for others.... the item has now been withdrawn
Anorak! Me!
