Stand by - I'll have to measure. And I'll mail it privately because contractually I'm not supposed to divulge such things.

Todays Photo

Post by Drewski »

hi

What a wonderful insight we received today, into the entire Bluebird Legend.
The photo of Donalds St.Christopher medal and his inscribed lighter was something of a real special treat to see !

I never knew these items were ever recovered, let alone see a photo of them. the photo is spectactular....

Lets appreciate the fantastic work of Bill and the Entire Team who continue to bring the Legend back to life, and also for sharing the journey with us all !!!!!

thanks ......

Thanks for that - much appreciated. We also recovered his pocket change and his St Christopher keyring, which Gina gave to me and I wear it in a gold setting on a chain around my neck. It's a treasured posession.

If I aint mistaken the lighter is a Dunhill Rollagas engine turned finish around 1965-bet you it still works as well!-well after a service by Dunhills anyway-do they have the lighter or was it retained by Gina?-yeah I know I'm a sad individual-I collect them! :)

I was told that Dunhills couldn't bring the lighter back to working order because some of its internals had corroded and expanded the case. Bit of a shame really.

What a pity-unusual for Dunhills to be that beyond redemption even after all that time submerged-still-just means that the last guy to light his ciggie from it was DC-quite poignant really-if you want a "doppelganger" to display just ask-I got a few spare ones!-
Ps the website don't allow the british colloqualism for cigarette to be used!-ie "phag "(misspelled) how PC!

Five and threpence is equivelent of 26p these days. Would have got him four pints back then as it was about one and threpence a pint. 4 pints for 26p and change back, oh happy days.

I reckon he should give us that five and thruppence back. We're fixing his boat after he bent it, buying us a beer is the least he could do!

Could somebody enlighten me?

Is that the 'Ghoul of Coniston' working on BB?

Perhaps the Moderator should intervene as I find it particularly frightening ---------!
