I'd guess that by the time we had a piece of wibbly acetate that size we'd miss more than we'd hit. It really is no problem to get on the inside and mark it all out accurately. Were we closing off a void, fitting an upper wing skin for instance, with no access to the interior, then maybe some such technique would prove useful, though I still think we'd get better accuracy by simply measuring and marking out. We've not missed thus far so I guess we'll not be fixing something that isn't broken. Thanks for the idea, though. We're always up for learning new stuff.

"There is quite a lot of aerospace work goes on around the Burnley/Barnoldswick area where I live."
Not as much as there used to be, the days of GEC, Philips, Lucas, Mullards and many more have long gone in the area. Mind you if memory serves, the Bluebird frame did get a bit of a refurb in Nelson.

I'm guessing that will have been Mr Getty at PDS?
There is still a lot that goes on round here & all the people & skills are still here, just getting older.

Got my key ring years ago and picked it up in person as it was just up the road. Supposedly only 100 made, at least thats what the inside sticker in the box says. Thought I remembered they were supposed to contain bits of dead rivets or was that just the statue thingy?
