It's funny, I just hijacked my Fiancee's laptop and looked on that. Same thing. A simple link. (Firefox and four other browsers)

Tried her iPad and it comes up fine on/in/with Safari.

Aah well, 5 laptops, running MacOS (10.13 or 10.14) and 3 pc's with win7 pro or ultimate and the only device that shows the page correctly is an iPad.

Good to know it is only the laptops and PC's misbehaving and not the BBP website.

If I could replicate the problem I would fix it but as everything is working I don't know what to fix here. Perhaps a hard refresh may work (ctrl +f5 on windows, cmd + F5 on mac) may help

It is what it is and for now I will live with it whilst I determine a solution.

It may be in how the feed is called to the main webpage (adobe flash/shockwave? Java/javascript?).

I have all flash, shockwave and java/javascript blocked from loading on all my laptops and pc's as it can be insecure and it may be that causing the issue, though Firefox on iOS on my iPhone behaves the same without blocking flash/java.

Odd, but I'll live with it.

I only mentioned in passing originally and did not want to start a discussion on it, however, always good to know what has been said so far.

So will pic of the day be returning to this website? Miss not seeing day to day stuff at work. Due to security, social media is not accessible.

Can you be sure it was 'off white' in 1966 and not white that has 'aged' during the last half century?
My experience with white is the oil/varnish in the paint yellows with age.
The original sign writer would probably have used a signwriter's white (not Brilliant White) such as made by Keeps or similar.

We polished a small area and it remained off white so either it always was off white or some change has taken place in the paint to change its colour throughout. It that would be a known phenomenon with vintage cars and such so I'm pretty sure it was always off white.

you could, if so inclined, run it by historic paint consultant Patrick Baty in London. On previous historic paint projects I've found his knowledge and microscopic analysis to be very helpful.

The photo in Neil Sheppard's book shows the signwriter on page 45. A traditional signwriter using signwriter's enamel paint.
Almost certainly he would use the same white for all the white painting. Why wouldn't he? He needs to get the job done and make a profit.
Unless the white roundel ground was sprayed in celulose, but I personally think the signwriter would be contracted to carry out all the graphics, laying down the background fields one day then, after overnight drying, laying on the top graphics.
Not having seen the surviving section of skin with original paint, I am guessing the white was brush painted.
Signwriter's white enamel is oil-based, and of very fine quality, free flowing with good covering power, the oil binder (not the pigment) fades or 'yellows' over time due to pollution in the air.
Even modern gloss white 'yellows' quite quickly. You should see my recently-painted skirting boards.

My money would be on white enamel that has faded or 'yellowed' with age.
