Great stuff today-

...and with that, the two have come to the end of their displays together, and the Canadians will soon be heading home again.

Wasn't aware of the itinerary for the aircraft today, but my girlfriend texted a few hours ago to say she was doing a spot of gardening when both Lancasters roared directly overhead (this was Fenton, near Newark).

Talk about being in the right place at the right time :)

The Canadians left for home this morning, and the BBMF gave them an escort for a little while-

The first leg home has been safely completed- she's down at Iceland now.

One of those funny little Orpheus engines that get used for flight, pottering about under a certain V-bomber-

We got our Shackleton taxying yesterday. Not as far as we'd like to have gone as we had a pneumatic brake sac/bag start to leak, but its a start.

Fantastic! I'd forgotten what a lovely noise the Shack makes, even on the ground.

In other Ye Olde aircraft news, the Canadian Lanc got a heroes welcome as it arrived back home yesterday, and the 'Mk1' Blenheim at Duxford is getting very, very close to flying now...
