Re: The Sponsons Thread
Getting back to the sponsons, I'm delighted to report that the planing surfaces are now on the machine at MKW. One of the forward shoes in the making.

I'm not sure if this video (scenes after the crash of debris) has been seen much. I've not come acrossthis video of the parts been washed up before.

I think it contains shots of the Sponsons but I may be well out.

Re: The Sponsons Thread
That's the one from 8th January, unless I'm mistaken, and was the follow-up to the short announcement released on the 5th. There were also a couple of broadcasts from Decemeber but they don't seem to be there any more. In fact, about two thirds of the clips that used to be there don't seem to be appearing in searches now. I'm rather glad I grabbed copies of them when you still could, even if the quality isn't that great.Digitaljunior wrote:I'm not sure if this video (scenes after the crash of debris) has been seen much. I always rather fancied purchasing proper copies but seem to remember they wanted horrendous sums for each - Translate that to 38 clips of DMC with K4 & K7 alone and then countless others of CN7, MDC, Segrave, Thomas, Eyston, Cobb... It would be cheaper to buy Pathé and get them by default!

Welded the very last attachment angle, ever, tonight for the second sponson. Yippee!
Also riveted a complete frame together with choccie and everything - first one of those finished too.

The planing wedges are coming on a treat at MKW.
How fantastic is this! Remember that it's 6ft long, 15in wide and 9in deep.

Fantastic piece of machining! Sobering thought that more material has been removed from the original billet than will remain on the finished piece!
