Something we all chipped in on, but John and I still bear the mental scars with !
You guys did an incredible job and it was well and truly proven out on Bute.
Bluebird's new sponsons built by an IT specialist and a surveyor. How cool is that?

Sounds right Cookie! I was going out with Kim Evenden, who went to Willingdon School, Broad Road, and I did my apprenticeship at Caffyns 507 Seaside, and I am going to guess you're talking about John Cook? Such a small world

John Cooke was my old man, yep and I was in the same year as Kim! Tis surely a small world.

No News yet on the old Norris Brothers offices, but I've been back through this thread and noticed that there was a rumour that was never substantiated that the sponsons may have ended up here at the Ricebridge Works as hardcore under a building? Also saw this a while ago:

https://www.midsussextimes.co.uk/news/b ... s-1-677907

If that ever was the case, I hope it's not the factory I'm currently sitting in that they're under (immediately behind Norris Brothers house/office) as my MD would have a fit if I took a Kango to our workshop floor (I would if I knew they were under here!)

Were Bluebird Marine in the factory now occupied by Ken and Lew's other business, Flotronic Pumps Ltd?
