Wasn't the body made from a loo seat?

No, the body was made from simple block board, glued together, with a veneer glued to it. The scratchplate was polished black perspex.

Ah right. Can't believe Metallica aren't liked & no Slipknot mentioned yet either. Dave & Floyd are great but the singing ruins the guitaring for me. Iron Maiden & Rammstein are awesome live too.
Doesn't anyone listen to good ol' Hank Marvin & The Shadows? Damn lol

The delightful young lady from the business banking centre who used to look after me told me one Monday morning that she'd met her heroes and been to the after-show with the band on the Saturday evening.

I asked her which band - bearing in mind that she came across as a Sound of Music type...

'Sacred Mother Tongue', she told me. I'd never heard of them so once the call ended with me remaining non-committal I went in search of them.

Ask Google. I thought the lead singer was being electrocuted. Seems there's no accounting for taste.

North eastern-raised guitarist Mr Knopfler has a track called 'Bluebird' on his album Privateering.
Talking of north-eastern muso's. I recently stood in a queue in a shop in Grasmere behind Gordon Sumner. I think he was getting a bottle of milk. Even international rock megastars need a brew. I was about to mention that I didn't much care for his Elizabethan Lute music album, but he was away like willo the wisp in the biggest 4x4 you've ever seen. Robert Plant used to drink in my local here in Birmingham - and so did Benny off Crossroads. The jukebox used to be filled with Zeppelin, Eddie & the Hotrods and another Brummie muso, Joan Armatrading, payed so loud it used to cause ripples in your pint. Sadly it is now part of a chain playing tastefully muted muzak - like the lift scene out of Blues Brothers. Happy days.

As far as I know, Sting's had a house there for many years. The last time I stayed in Grasmere, which was nine years ago, he had already been a "local" for some time.

Wordsworth thought Grasmere the finest place in God's Kingdom, so a man with his pick of places to spend his time could do worse.

I'd sooner listen to John die-grinding all day, though now I think of it, it's much the same sound isn't it?

Then I'm sure to be delighted to find out that Iron Maiden have a new album entitled "The Book Of Souls" which is out in September!!
