Stolen Sponsons

Post by CHWk7 » Tue Jan 23, 2018 10:08 pm

I have it on good authority that a number of likely clad people raided the Ruskin Museum at the weekend taking away a certain blue set of sponsons! I wounder why?

Don't get too excited - yet.

The fruit of two years' hard, volunteer labour has benefited the Ruskin for a couple of years now but, as we eagerly await our invitation from Cumbria to host their free, world-class attraction that we've slaved towards since November 2002, we thought we'd set up our stunning sponsons at the other end of the red carpet.

Ought to be a pure silk job from Persia but a top quality wool with a nice deep pile might get them by if they're nice to us and buy the beers...

It was a cracking bit of team work on Saturday to retrieve the sponsons, spars, and associated tin. Richie, Al and myself travelled over from here and met Novie, Checkie and Jordan over there. The whole strip down and loading job didn't take long, and we were back at base in time for Bill, Baz, John and Dave to help us unload. Marvellous! :D
