Hopefully Coniston and the Ruskin will make contact and give us a clear indication of where we stand for the next 12 months or so... out of profesional courtesy of course.

All I've had, and it was second hand anyway, is that they were waiting on me to agree dates, except that they haven't proposed any. I did say to one of their Festival Coming Home Bluebird Heritage Committee, or whatever they call themselves, that the last two weeks in July would be acceptable but no word on that either. Nor has there been a squeak out of the LDNPA either. Dates are academic if they can't clear a course for us to run on. In the meantime, the post-Bute inspection and rebuild is going well. Got some new kero-proof paint coming for the interior of the hull and we've learned lots of new and important historical facts about what the fuel tanks and hoses get up to.

Really good idea! With the success of the first outing would one week be long enough? Would be cool to bring along those lovely Marillos peeps. Wonder if they would do a slot at the music festival...might make a nice feature in the Web magazine, if it *ahem* hasn't already been done

My only thing with Bute is, it isn’t long enough for us to push the boat on a bit and learn more about her, unless we are happy to cap at 130mph ? I can’t imagine in all fairness why there would be any need to go faster than that, thinking about it.

The course length to be made available on Coniston Water is three (3) miles (say 5km), according to the byelaw. The K7 craft does not have to go to any particular speed, but doubling the length of the waterway will mean expanding our whole operation. I would think that to do justice to the Proving Trial (should we get that far), a further period of crew training will be needed on a suitable long straight stretch of water. There are some choices overseas of course

it’s not t that we are in need of a cap, we have the technique now to show her nicely without to much excitement. The pictures look pretty good, you just need a blip of speed to get her going nicely. the majority of the display runs we did were around the 130 mark...just no need for radar hitler thank you

Thought that too. But a longer loch does give rise to the temptation to push it a bit more and a bit more and a bit more. Pretty soon your in a whole new ball game...
Depends what the aim of the BBP is...
Thought you got over 150 on some of the runs?
