What’s the closest airport?
Newcastle airport about £ 25 to 30 by taxi, Newcastle Train Station about £18 by taxi - take the metro from either probably something like £4 each way I would think these days or a day rover ticket if you fancy a station by station hop on and off on the way there or back.

If anyone is coming for the day by plane or train, I would recommend the metro to North Shields or Tynemouth then a walk or short taxi from either circa £5 including tip.

Tynemouth Station Market is on at a Weekend - google it to have a look - its usually worth a browse for books/tools/vinyl (of the music variety not flooring).

If it ends up as Sunday 14th April theres a book fair there which is usually good (found a few rarities over the years).

Sunday morning is also model boat time at Tynemouth Boating Lake on the seafront so depending on time.....
"Turned Out Nice Again!"
""There is a grey blur, and a green blur. I try to stay on the grey one."
Motorbikes, Big Blue "Boats", 1/2 Scale Wooden Silver Boats.... and Craft Ales (but not all at the same time)...

Okay we seem to have settled on Sunday 14th April as the best for the six who have declared an interest.
Over to you Bill- are you okay with six of us on that date?

Yes indeed - six will be fine. What time? if you say 08:00 you'll have a nice long stand around in the street til I get there...

I think flight would arrive at Newcastle 09:40, getting out & cab will probably take it to 11 arrival at the shop.

How about we meet at midday, we can have a good rummage around the boat and a natter then walk down to the river for a celebratory glass of shandy?
