Looking at the pictures of the bike, it appears to have three wheels .... Or am I missing something here?

Pictures have been used with the vehicle/motorcycle on three wheels.

Because organisers of motorsport events have not learnt how to control the wind, when Richard started to gain speed with jet-reaction it was necessary for him to run as a three wheeler streamliner (an FIM Class too), just to get out and onto the airfield to prove that all of the systems function.

Back on two wheels and testing runs at Elvington in April were not possible with a cross wind blowing. Could be better in early May and Richard will try 'again' to run on Pendine Sands later in the month (having taken the Gillette Mach3 Challenger there often in '98 when he did not get to make any powered run).

The website tells the full story and gives information on earlier projects by the 'Rocketman'.

I see the Sunbeam Blue Bird is returning to Pendine for a run, on the 90th anniversary -

Brings a whole new meaning to "goes like sh1t!"

And nice to see that it was inspired by Bloodhound SSC

As the reports indicate this is another UKTA land speed record, this time for a closed course lap record. OK, it's not as fast as the Aerotech Oldsmobile or even the McLaren driven by Tiff, but as a fully functioning service bus what would you expect. If you want to support a charity get along to the open day in Reading on 14th June and buy a ticket that was issued when at full speed.

Spoke to Tony Fahey recently , he pulled out this photo. Thought you might like it.
He says he has more in his London home so I am trying to get him to bring them up to Manchester so I can copy them and share. Apparently Leo gave them to him when Tony And Leo were working on the first version of Tony's jet boat.

Drag racer Lee Gallimore has been at Cosford Air Show today (14th) displaying two RR Adour jet engines which he intends to mount in his next racing vehicle - a land speed jet car. Once completed he plans to take the British LSR on Pendine Sands, then go over to Bonneville. There are minimal technical details so far, but is one to watch out for in the future. Car is to be called the "Black Country Bullit".

If anyone wants a serious drive in a new WWSR contender, then the Blackbird project in New Zealand are offering the seat in their jet boat to a 'dunk tested' pilot with some cash.

I got to wondering recently. K7's career is a record breaker has been over since the accident that cost Donald Campbell. But what about her basic design? Could a craft be built using modern materials / technology be built using K7's basic design as a template? K7 is the most prolific boat in the history of the WWSR for a reason, her design has to be a part of it surely? Yes improvements would have to be made, heavier sponson's for example to avoid the "bounceing" episodes that immediately proceeded the crash. "Fly by wire" technology to replace the hydraulics of the original. Basically we would be talking about a 21st century K7, as it only seems to be now that the speeds K7 was going for all those years ago are attainable. What do others think? Is this "do able", or just a fanciful dream?
