For those of us who didn't know him, there is an obituary on the Telegraph site.

I don't think it's necessary to be too critical of any inaccuracies you spot. The idea is to give an overview of the man.

Please excuse my presumption in expressing an opinion based on indirect information.

Regards.

Bill Smith talked about the life of Carl Spencer on Radio 4 on Friday, 29th June. You can listen to the tribute via the BBC Radio 4 web site. The programme is Last Word and went out at 16.00 hours. Bill's discussion starts about 7½ minutes into the broadcast.

I found the programme most respectful and fitting. Do listen, or at least read the blurb on the BBC website. You can see the details / listen via the programmes/schedules/fm/2009/05/29 link.

Carl's home now and he'd be going crackers if he thought he'd held up the project so we'd best get the show back on the road...

Just though I'd mention. It would have been Carl's fortieth birthday today. I raised a tin of Diet Coke in his memory. Bloody awful stuff!

One year has passed since the sad loss of Carl, his wit and humour is still with us on many occasion in the workshop and personnally.

It would be nice if everyone stopped for a moment today to remember our dear friend and his family.

I will certaintly raise a pint to him today, a pint of Coke that is.

Aye, a whole year has gone by and I still can't believe he's gone. More diet Coke for me tonight I guess.
