Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

The scale rear rudder assembly was a pig to get right. Front rudder simple. Fully radio control and quick. Should it be on static display or in the water I ask?

Re: Off the Rails - Train Stuff

Splendid and very interesting photographs. I never saw Hush Hush and rather surprisingly until you mentioned it I had not heard of it. We learn something every day. My wifes grandfather was an engine driver whose claim to fame was he once drive the royal train in the early 1900's with old Queen Mary...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

Thanks Ritchie for the kind comment. Rich has not yet got the knack of turning it and I think it was a windy day when he ran it. Turning whilst fully on the plane is not a good idea! The model has two rudders; one at the rear that lifts clear of the water when the boat is in the plane. without this ...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

Thank you chaps for the kind comments they are appreciated, particularly at the moment when I am having a bad period. There are better exact scale modellers than me, Fred Harris (ex replicast) from Southport, Adrian Gosling at Speedline and others but what I seem to be able to do is get models of fa...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

Thanks Richie but the one you saw was a 1/12th scale I sold about 10 years ago. The one I have just sold is much bigger at 1/8th scale and is fitted with a large brushless motor etc driving a three blade prop under the hull. Its about the same size as Ians 1/6th scale K7 Bill and the lads saw at Nor...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

The word will get around so here it is direct from the horses mouth. I have sold my large Partially finished model of Crusader to Rich Marsh who will make a good job of it. I got it to work well and its ready for him to finish. He's a genuine speed record enthusiast who is a member of my model boat ...
