Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Sometimes I think the whole story lacks any sort of logic from the trustees of the Ruskin Museum. It just doesn't make sense to me at all. Anyway, today I received a spam email with the following signature, it kind of sums it up: "I think sex is better than logic, but I can't prove it." Could have 2...

Re: Bluebird Runs 2019

I'm just happy that I made it to the trails on Bute in August 2018. Just wished I'd been there some days earlier to see the faster runs (and have some more talks - and beers - with the team).

Re: Bluebird Runs 2019

It just doesn't sound fair to me, and I can't stand unfairness. It makes me really mad. As I said earlier, I had thrown their parts at their feet long ago and would have started to rebuild the missing parts from scratch. I know you have spent hundreds or maybe thousands of hours to straighten those ...

Re: Bluebird Runs 2019

I might have gotten things wrong, but to me the committee behind the Ruskin museum thinks it has full control over K7, right? - they think so, because Gina Campbell has donated the wreckage to them - for free. But who paid for finding and recovering the wreckage? - they think so, because at some poi...

To me it was a good idea to switch to the next version. With todays RC technology it would be interresting to try such designs. A lot can b...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

We accidentally ran into you guys at the pub on Bute and honestly, we had nothing to do with the tent breaking down - but we do remember that evening in good memory. I doubt we got half of the jokes you guys made with (and about) us, but we could clearly tell, you are the good guys. I'd love to have...

Re: Pic of the Day

The "original" piece was cut out from the crashed upper part of the original 1967 sponsons? Very strange. Although it looks like Old English/Cream White (RAL 9001) now, looking at most old pictures it looks much less yellowish. Is there anything else white in those old pictures from which the exact ...

Re: Pic of the Day

I went through the book again this morning and there is one almost full screen picture of the sign where it does look a tiny bit yellowish, but the whole sponson looks yellowish from pollen and all the other stuff that swims on the water surface. Besides that the whole sponson doesn't look freshly p...
