Re: Technical Talk

I have been building this, as I worked on the big "one oneth" one Believe it or not, I drew the dials full size in paintbox, even the numbers and "Smiths" etc, and then scaled them down to 1/12th. Of course, at that size you can only see a blur, but I know it's all there and corr...

Re: Pic of the Day

Ah, but Nigel, getting out is merely traveling between the two! Unfortunately, I have become, through no choice of my own, a man of liesure (sudden cancelation of my contract, though I have three manuscripts to finnish), so I may get about a bit more! Magnesium, I can think of two grand prix drivers...

Re: Miss Britain III

I'm going from memory, so the usual disclaimers apply, but I think when the reg' was changed the "Z" was painted out and the infinity added (as per the photo's) and the "7" was merely converted to a "2", badly!!

Re: Miss Britain III

It's a "2", always was, Scott=Paine was actually told to get rid of the stylised "2" and makeit more clearly a "2" . The reason it was originally done was that MGBIII was going for the off shore record, the outright record was an after thought, and much like K3 was, for...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

It's a Replicast, made by the genius that is Fred Harris. Fred sold his masters but continues to makes short runs on commision and for himself. I know there's always a lot of "that's the wrong shape, that was bigger etc etc" when it comes to models, but what Fred produced, and how, was mir...

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

Now by odd coincedence, I was once asked to manage the Human League (very much post their succesful years, about 2002), and found Phil to be a total petrol head (he had a superb Laverda Jota amongst others) and later bumped into him severaal times when I worked in F1, where he ignored the drivers an...
