Re: The Bluebird Years

Tony and Ken's graphs are of the final run. Bill Maloney did the graphs of the aero/hydro dynamic qauilties.

As for wotking from cine film, news or otherwise, I never found a copy that hadn't been so edited that it made sense!

Re: Across the lake

The replica was built by Jack Lovell, the same guy who built some of the most recent Batmobiles. I sat in in once, while waiting for Alain De Cadenet (who was driving it) and it was quite spooky, looking down the lake through the canopy and wondering what 300 would be like. The "jet" in th...

Re: The Bluebird Years

I thought Sigma had gone!!! I am awaiting a letter confirming all rights to Leap' have reverted to me because Graham had sold Sigma!!! I have Tony James and Ken Wheelers original graphs somewhere (I cannot post or copy them, they are about 6 foot long), but I am not sure where they fit into Ken's re...

Re: Active support at Coniston 2010

Well Malcolm, you know the sort of things I've tinkered with, from spannering F3 cars, to driving old F1 cars and Edwardian chain drive monsters, while doing TV both behind and in front of the camera, etc etc etc, and if I am in the UK, I'm there!!!

Re: Technical Talk

Ken (and Lew') were an inspiration to me. I first met Ken as a fourteen year old, and wasn't patronised, or talked down too. Ken was very adapt at working out the level of those he was talking to, and then happy to interact with people on "their level", and yet still helping them understan...

Re: New Members

[quote="DMCK7 Fan"]I would recommend the following: Leap Into Legend (Steve Holter) A FANTASTIC reference guide to dip into and out of. You really don't know how pleased I am you said that! It was always my intention to do 'Leap' like a "swimming pool, dive in anywhere, swim about a b...

Re: New girl with questions . . .

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the dash went with one of the divers. Divers are like that. In all the years I was diving it was our collective mission to rip, cut and rag anything of any remote value, intrinsic or sentimental, off anyone's shipwreck with total disregard for who might own i...

Re: New girl with questions . . .

I still think the dash went with Futcher, and the plaques, well Gina has the Bluebird one, because it was on the dash of the Agfa Bluebird...............

As for Fiching, I am saying nothing!

Re: early 80`s jet hydroplane, Coniston.

Oh, I feel plagerized! No problem!! Fahey's project wasn't the same as Noel's Excalibur. If you want to see Noel Edmunds go red and have steam come out of his ears, ask him about Excalibur! I did, and he left the room for nearly an hour. A full size wooden mock up was made but it would never have wo...

I thought Don Sidebottom had the wheel remains, that's where I saw them, and Don was the winning bidder at the Neales auction...........
