Fred’s a good friend of mine, and was of John’s as well, which is how he ended up with those two engines - he’s been a big help to me starting out in moulding and resin casting.
I’m not anywhere near John’s league, like I said, time and patience to do such meticulous work are not things I’m blessed with - I just like a model that works and looks convincing enough whilst on the water at speed.
I particularly love the Miss America X and Miss Grest Britain models of his, truly stunning.
My own Miss America is a converted Chinese static model, again, not spectacular but convincing when on the water.
I’ve got a set of plans for Miss GB so maybe one day
My 1/8th Crusader was a joint venture between myself and Ernie Lazenby. Ernie did all the hard work, I added all the detail, paint and have since converted to jet power but yet to test it
