According to widespread reports, Michael Schumacher has come out of his coma and recognised his wife.

Broadcaster RT state that Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kem has told local television that the former Formula 1 champion was in a complicated process of recovery, alternating between states of consciousness and sleep as he wakes up from the induced coma.

Kem said she could not elaborate further for fear of breaching his privacy, leaving further comment to the hospital where he is currently being cared.

Fantastic news if the above is correct.

Latest reports are all very carefully worded, but it seems like good news. The question now is what his quality of life will be like, but if he can muster some of the fighting spirit that made him such an F1 legend, there is good cause for optimism

Good news indeed Mike I heard it on the radio the other day also. I feel he is a proud man and is not wanting the world to see him in his weakened state but thats putting it mildly. That is the reason there has been no news for weeks. Which is what we must respect and now allow him time and the privacy to recover. If anybody can battle back from his injuries then I have every faith in him doing so.
