Richie, I know what happened and it is firmly my fault.
It was a nested quote (a quote inside a quote), so when snipping out the main bulk, I must have removed the wrong quote tag.

I asked a specialist teacher friend of mine to take a look at the tweets and rants and was told there's certainly language issues there. Could be poor vocabulary or just that he doesn't know what the words mean. Alternatively, perhaps language is just too complex for this individual. There are memory issues too because he doesn't seem to remember what happened last time or learn from this. Apparently this is indicative of a 'metacognitive deficit', whatever that is, because his memory and processing speed does not work as speedily or as effectively as in normal people. There was lots more that I couldn't spell but the overall diagnosis was 'moderate learning difficulties'.

To Gina Campbell
I was a 12yr child on the Lakeside of Coniston when I saw a very brave man die proving British engineering was the best in the world. I made a promise to myself that I would do my best to continue his legacy. Many of the readers of this website know of my direct involvement in many Land and Water speed record teams which include both the fastest car record to be set in Britain and the fastest British Unlimited prop boat [under new rules].
Gina, we have met several times in the past 25yrs and I have a photo of us having a ‘cuddle’ at Coniston in about 1995. You have always been approachable, friendly and I had a high regard for you, especially for putting up with Campbell and Bluebird ‘nuts’ such as me. We even had a nice chat at Bute when you fully supported the efforts of Bill and the BBP.
We have a mutual ‘friend’ in Novie.
I have known him since the early 90’s and worked alongside him in speed record attempts such as
• Bluebird Electric, when he turned up on his motorbike to watch the event and then ended up working all day in his leathers to get the car set up.
• Primetime Land speed record in 2000
• Miss Albatross unlimited turbine prop boat British record
• In the last 3yrs we have worked alongside each other acting as Pit crew for a formula 2 powerboat team. This culminated in 2019 when our driver became National Champion. Novie used to turn heads when arriving in his car with those plates on! He was always being asked about them.
Since the recovery of K7 he has worked tirelessly with the BBP team to get her working and back on the water and continually promoting the Campbell legend. I know he has been a good friend and ‘adviser’ to you.
As readers of this forum will know, Bill and I do not see eye to eye. This would have caused problems for some people, but Novie kept his peace. He NEVER discussed BBP matters with me despite my questions. As I have never had any comebacks from our conversations, I am sure he never discussed me with the BBP. I have always found him a great friend and wind up merchant who can keep his own counsel and separate friendships to keep both sides ‘happy’. I have absolutely no doubt this was the same situation between you and the BBP.I know he also makes his own decisions, sticks to his guns and is always open to ‘discuss’ differences of opinion when there is disagreement.
The problems re the future of K7 and the treatment of Novie has severely dented my passion for Speed records and as such has started my departure from the ‘sport’. I recently ‘disposed’ of all my books, my prize possessions of a piece of K7 and a photo given to me by Leo as a result. This was a massive 50yr collection and contained many books personally signed to me by the authors and many of the people held in high esteem in the world of record breaking. Whilst in the process of handing the books over I ‘bumped’ into Novie. He was clearly not the person I was working with in 2019. He was reticent to speak about anything K7 related or about the ‘personalised plates’ saga. He was obviously being ‘true’ to his friendship to yourself despite the events as outlined in these ‘threads’. I concluded that there was obviously more to the ‘plates’ story than he would let on and that he was clearly hurting at the ‘loss’ of your friendship and of I suspect disgraceful treatment regarding other unmentioned things. I can only think he has been stabbed in the back by you, a so-called friend! That is the worst kind of all abuse, it’s a betrayal of trust!
Who did a sponsored run raising loads of cash that paid for a path in the cemetery to your Dads grave? Answer Novie!
Who spent 15yrs or so tending DCs grave? Answer Novie !
Does a person who has dedicated himself to the memory of your father and his boat deserve to be treated as dirt and badly abused?
I believe you have been badly advised regarding the way to recover the Licence plates and the future of K7. Both the methods used were completely wrong in many ways and have clearly caused friction and for observers to take sides. Novie has won this hands down and everyone I have spoken to supports him with several saying derogatory remarks about you and your actions.
I am suggesting you get in contact with Novie and attempt to get your mutual friendship back on track for both your sakes. I don’t think you will try and heal the rift and I think you will be on a downward spiral of losing ‘supporters’. The cause of your friendship ‘break up’ with Novie is affecting your name, not his, and has badly tarnished the ‘Campbell Legend’!
